Diploma

Diploma is classified as Intermediate level in Vocational Training. Intermediate professional education diploma education program is equivalent to Level 4 in Vietnam’s National Qualification Framework.

1.      Objectives

Intermediate level shall equip students for abilities to perform elementary-level tasks and some complicated and special tasks; apply technology to jobs, work independently or work in teams.

2.      Entrance Requirements

The intermediate-level enrollment shall be carried out in the form of admission or examination or the combination between admission and examination. The Principal of the vocational training school may decide the shortlisting before performing the admission or examination according to the specific requirements of the major or vocation. (Section c, Clause 2, Article 32, Law No. 74/2014/QH13 dated on 27^th November 2014 on Vocational Education)

3.      Training Period

The duration of training of intermediate-level shall last from 01 year to 02 years with regard to the lower-secondary graduates according to their majors or vocational training. (Clause 2, Article 33, Law No. 74/2014/QH13 dated on 27^th November 2014 on Vocational Education)

4.      Academic Load

Level 4 requires the minimum academic load of 35 credits, applicable to people with the certificates of completion of upper-secondary education, or 50 credits, applicable to people with the certificates of completion of lower-secondary education. (Section d, Clause 5, Article 1, Decision No. 1982/QD-TTg dated on 18^th October 2016 on Approval for Vietnamese qualifications framework)

5.      Grading System

 6.      Outcome Standards

Level 4 certifies education level of learners who have:

-          Factual and theoretical knowledge in a field of work or study;

-          General knowledge about politics, nature, culture, society, law and information technology;

-          Have awareness, professional skills and communicative skills required to carry out frequent or complicated tasks, work in groups or work individually in known and changeable contexts, take personal responsibility and responsibility towards own groups, have capacity to instruct and supervise the ordinary tasks of others. (Section d, Clause 5, Article 1, Decision No. 1982/QD-TTg dated on 18^th October 2016 on Approval for Vietnamese qualifications framework)

 7.      Degrees
